Tom Miralia

President/CEO

Tom Miralia is the president and CEO of Distribution Technology. A professional in the logistics industry for 25+ years, Tom joined the firm in 1988 as its staff industrial engineer. After a promotion to vice president of operations, Tom took the helm as the company’s president and CEO in 2005. Prior to joining Distribution Technology, Tom was a reactor engineer at the McGuire Nuclear Station for Duke Energy. Tom is an active member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC), where he has served as a local officer. Tom received his Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear engineering from North Carolina State University and his MBA from Queens University of Charlotte. Tom believes the key to success is “delivering exceptional value for our clients through innovative services executed at the highest levels of quality.”

 

Mark Miralia

Vice President of Sales and President of Record Storage Systems

As Distribution Technology’s vice president of sales, Mark Miralia oversees all sales and marketing efforts of the company. Previously with M&W Distribution in Atlanta, Ga., Mark joined Distribution Technology in 1988. Throughout his tenure, Mark has held positions in various departments including warehouse supervision, traffic dispatching, international operations management and customer service management. With 25+ years in the logistics industry, Mark is also the president of the company’s records management operation, Record Storage Systems. Mark received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Appalachian State University and is a member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, and the Warehousing Education and Research Council.

Chairman of the Board

Rock Miralia

As the company’s principal founder and chairman of the board, Rock Miralia established Distribution Technology in 1969 and has more than 50 years of experience in logistics management. Currently, Rock oversees the long-term strategic planning for the organization and serves as an ongoing mentor to his sons, Tom and Mark Miralia. Founded with a mission to operate a closely held business, Rock has successfully lead the company for nearly forty years. After graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, Rock began his career with Johnson & Johnson while earning his MBA from the University of Chicago. From there he moved to Xerox Corporation as a Corporate Distribution Manager, and pioneered much of the change that is evidenced in today’s distribution management processes. Rock is a founding member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), as well as the Warehousing Education and Research Council (WERC). He is also actively involved and a member of the International Warehouse Logistics Association and the Rotary Club of Charlotte.

Rick Cantelmo

General Manager of
Business Development

A 25 year veteran in warehousing and logistics, Rick Cantelmo is the general manager of business development at Distribution Technology. Overseeing sales for the company, Rick joined the team in 1998 as an operations manager. Prior to joining Distribution Technology, Rick was an Operations Manager for both Shoney’s Distribution and Dow Corning Corporation. Rick studied business management at Middle Tennessee State University and is a member of the Warehouse Education and Research Council.

Barry Hancock

Vice President of
Finance

Joining Distribution Technology as controller in 1989, Barry Hancock was promoted in January 2006 and is now vice president of finance and corporate secretary. Barry handles Distribution Technology’s accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance and insurance/risk management. Before starting his tenure with Distribution Technology, Barry handled accounting initiatives for George G. Scott & Co., Thurston Motor Lines and Rapistan Wil-Mat. Barry received his degree in Accounting from UNC Charlotte, and has his C.P.A. certification from the North Carolina Board of C.P.A.’s. Barry is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Deborah R. Hinson

General Manager of
Customer Service

A consummate relationship builder, Debbie Hinson is the general manager of customer service for Distribution Technology. Using a team approach, Debbie plans and directs all customer service activities and mentors personnel who participate in these activities, including formulating standard operating procedures and ensuring compliance with direct client needs and any federal or state requirements. With almost 40 years in the distribution business, Debbie studied public warehouse management by attending Michigan State University, and the University of North Carolina – Charlotte.

John Moss

Vice President of
Operations

Having worked in logistics and management services for the past 25 years, John Moss is Distribution Technology’s vice president of operations. John develops and maintains strategic management process for the company’s warehouse, transportation and contract logistics center operations. John received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and his MBA from Radford University. John is on the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and the North Carolina League of Transportation and Logistics  (NCLTL).
